The Snoekie Market in 2021 was such a success that we were excited to announce that we would be having The Snoekie Christmas Market. The aim of the event was to bring our diverse communities together and create a platform to support one another.

We appealed to small businesses and organizations who would have liked to host a stall in the market. The market also allowed for the opportunity for local entrepreneurs and local organisations to showcase their crafts and creations.

There was a special performance by The Blue Marine Crew from Guardians of the Deep, called ‘The Power of Our Choices’, as well as a raffle and prizes. This was a fundraising effort to support our partner for environmental educational programmes, Guardians of the Deep.

About Guardians of the Deep

Guardians of the Deep is a local organization that runs programmes like Arkys Outreach, the Chacma Champions Programme, and the Tembo Mentorship programme. Guardians of the Deep work closely with youth from Ocean View, Masiphumelele, and the surrounds to ‘empower children through knowledge and compassion’ by reconnecting them with their natural environment. The Blue Marine Crew from Ocean View performed their play called ‘The Power of our Choices.
